Tasting Notes

Colour

Deep amber with coppery hues and a mahogany glow.

Nose

Raisins mingle with orange peel, polished oak and a kiss of sweet spice, delivering a warm, inviting aroma that hints at Oloroso richness and the whisky’s cask-driven depth.

Palate

Dried fruits meld with dark toffee, roasted nuts and rich malt for a full, mouth-coating palate. The Oloroso influence brings warming depth and a lingering sherry-spiced sweetness that harmonizes with the nutty malt.

Finish

Long, warming finish that gently dries the palate, leaving a persistent kiss of sherry spice with a warm, nutty echo.

Glen Spey
(Glen-SPAY) Glen Spey is a lesser-known distillery located in Rothes, Moray. It was built in 1878 by James Stuart as Mill of Rothes, originally starting from an oatmeal mill before distilling equipment was added. The Glen Spey name came in 1887, when Stuart sold the site to W&A Gilbey, the London gin producer that later became closely connected with Scotch whisky blending.
