Featured in the 1001 whiskies you must try before you die book
The other Tennessee sour mash Whiskey that often gets overlooked by its more famous neighbour and made using the same "Lincoln county process" of mellowing the whiskey through maple wood charcoal.
84% Corn 8% Rye 8% Barley and for me not as sweet and syrupy as Jack Daniel's and if you fancy looking beyond all the Jack Daniel's marketing and try something different from Bourbon then this antique bottle of Dickel No12 is liquid mississipi mud pie and well worth seeking out.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with a coppery glow and honey-gold edges.
Nose
Maple-charred oak frames a corn-forward nose, with warming vanilla and a touch of rye spice. Less syrupy than its more famous neighbour, caramel and cocoa deepen, while citrus zest and toasted grain lend brightness. A whisper of leather and tobacco grows with the scent, finishing with a refined, smoke-kissed Tennessee aroma that hints at the antique bottling.
Palate
Silky, medium-bodied and gracefully mellow, the palate bears maple-charred sweetness from the Lincoln County mellowing—vanilla, toasted corn and a whisper of rye. Chocolate-molasses depth hints at Mississippi mud pie, with toasted almond, espresso, and a touch of dark fruit. Creamy texture frames toasted oak and barley, finishing warm, lightly smoky, and long.
Finish
Long and indulgent, the finish threads dark chocolate and espresso through caramel and maple-char oak. Vanilla mingles with a whisper of rye spice, while a soft, warming smoke lingers to fade like a warmed dessert on the palate.
