About George Dickel
George Dickel is a Tennessee whisky made at Cascade Hollow Distilling Co. in Tullahoma, Tennessee. George A. Dickel was a Nashville merchant who entered the whisky trade in the 19th century, and Cascade Hollow Distillery opened in Coffee County in 1878, with Dickel later buying a large share of the business.
George Dickel is now owned by Diageo and remains one of the key names in Tennessee whisky, using the traditional “whisky” spelling rather than the more common American “whiskey”. The range includes expressions such as No. 8, No. 12, Barrel Select, Bottled in Bond and George Dickel Rye, with a style built around corn sweetness, oak, vanilla, spice and the charcoal-mellowed character associated with Tennessee whisky.
