Tasting Notes

Colour

Deep amber with copper-gold sheen and a whisper of mahogany at the rim.

Nose

Aromas of vanilla bean and rich caramel mingle with toasted oak and a kiss of rye spice. Subtle notes of red apple, dried apricot and orange zest emerge, guided by a polished sweetness and a hint of floral lift.

Palate

Silky and balanced on the palate, with caramel and vanilla cream layered over warm rye spice. Ripe red fruit notes weave through toasted oak, touched by citrus zest. The texture is smooth with a gentle chew, and the finish lingers softly, echoing oak and spice.

Finish

Long and warming, with vanilla and caramel unfolding into toasted oak and rye spice. Hints of cinnamon and nutmeg linger, leaving a silky sweetness that gradually fades to a refined, oaky finish.

Four Roses
Four Roses dates to 1888, when Paul Jones Jr. trademarked the name in Kentucky after moving his business to Louisville’s Whiskey Row. Its history took several unusual turns after that: the Paul Jones Company bought Frankfort Distilling in 1922, which helped Four Roses survive Prohibition through medicinal whiskey sales, and Seagram later acquired the brand, eventually withdrawing its straight bourbon from the US while keeping Four Roses strong in export markets such as Europe and Japan.
