Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with a sunlit copper glow and a whisper of mahogany at the rim, hinting at lingering sherry warmth.
Nose
Sherry-rich and lifted, with dried fig, raisin and candied orange peel unfolding over almond and toffee. Vanilla and gentle spice weave through the malt, while the oak adds a polished, mineral backbone. A bold, luscious aroma that hints at complexity to come at cask strength.
Palate
Rich, full-bodied palate of dried figs, raisins and dates, brightened by orange zest and cocoa, with toffee and walnut-tinged oak. Sherry sweetness coats the tongue at cask strength, supported by gentle spice and a warming, lingering finish that reveals nutty, cocoa notes and a soft, creamy texture.
Finish
Long, warm finish with rich dark fruit and orange zest, a gentle Sherry sweetness lingering in the background. Cask-strength pepper and spice—nutmeg and clove—mingle with cocoa and toasted almond, while oak evolves into a velvety, resinous dryness that lingers as the warmth slowly fades.
