Some distilleries are renowned for their meatier spirit style; underneath the fruitiness or maltiness lurks something that is just a little bit animalic. We were inspired to search out malts with this touch of the wild about them – whether from their distillation or subsequent maturation – and bring them together in our Menagerie.
Compass Box Menagerie is a blend of malt whiskies from Mortlach, Laphroaig, Glen Elgin, Deanston, and other distilleries from the Scottish Islands.
Menagerie boasts a complex aroma of baking spices, leather, tar and musky fruits. The palate is engagingly lush with even more fruit, while oily smoke and forest floor notes linger in the finish.

Nose
An evocative bouquet of baking spices, leather and tar, braided with musky-fruited notes. A wild, animalic lift lingers beneath the smoke, with hints of forest floor, creating a rich, tactile aroma that invites slow exploration.
Palate
Engagingly lush, the palate unfolds with abundant fruit over a satin malt core. Spices glow through the mid-palate as oily smoke threads leather and tar. A forest-floor earthiness lingers into a long, resinous finish, leaving a gentle sweetness and a touch of meatiness on the tongue.
Finish
Long, resinous finish with oily smoke lingering over a mossy forest floor; hints of tar and leather weave through the warmth, leaving a muted, herbal glow.
