Clynelish Ainslie & Heilbron Brora Scotch Whisky 12 Year Old · 1964 Vintage
Out of stock
Any Clynelish distilled pre-1965 would have been produced at the old distillery which is now more commonly known as Brora. These Ainslie & Heilbron bottles are increasingly becoming almost impossible to obtain and are one of our top tips to see massive growth in value over the coming years due to their scarcity and rapidly increasing desirability. This particular example is especially nice as it is complete with its original, almost mint condition box which depicts a lovely hand drawn picture of the now silent Brora distillery.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with coppery-bronze highlights and a burnt-orange edge, a warm, honey-rich glow.
Nose
Sea-salt, waxy citrus and a briny coastal lift greet the nose, yielding dried fruit and a warm sherried sweetness. Almond, honey and a polished mineral edge emerge, finishing with a refined, candle-wax glow.
Palate
Silky and full on the palate, this Brora profile carries coastal waxiness with sea-salt and iodine tempered by rich sherry fruit. Raisin and fig mingle with dark chocolate, toasted almond and a touch of pepper, while a whisper of peat lingers mid-palate. The finish is long and maritime, with orange zest and leather leaving a refined, warming echo.
Finish
Long, refined finish saturated with sherry depth: prunes, fig and dark cherry melt into cocoa and toasted almond, while a coastal, waxy lift threads through. Gentle spice and leather deepen before fading to a warm, ember-soft glow.
