Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep golden amber with coppery highlights and a warm, sunlit glow.
Nose
Aromas pour forth of sherry-soaked fruit and peat-dusted smoke, tempered by sea-salt mineral notes and waxy oak. Dried citrus zest, toffee, and a hint of cocoa swirl with charred ember warmth. The maritime Bowmore reveals vanilla sweetness and subtle iodine, inviting a soft, complex tapestry that hints at a classic Islay peat with refined sherry influence.
Palate
Peat smoke and sea-salt rise on the palate, carried by a mineral, coastal glow. Orange zest and lemon peel brighten the entrance, while sherry-cask warmth layers in raisin, fig, and date with dark chocolate. Vanilla, toasted oak and a gentle almond sweetness weave through the smoke. The finish is long and refined, with coastal brine, subtle spice, and an echo of ash and caramel-laden oak.
Finish
Long, peat-forward finish with maritime salt and a whisper of sherry. The smoke lingers, gently seasoned by dark cocoa and dried fig, with toasted oak in the final echoes. A warm, refined fade that leaves a lasting Islay silhouette.
