Tasting Notes

Colour

Deep amber with coppery highlights and mahogany edges.

Nose

Smoked fruitcake with rum-and-raisin chocolate, a tarmac edge, and sweet tobacco. Ripe figs glow alongside dark orange marmalade, while forest-floor earthiness and rootsy undertones weave a dusky, Islay-bound aroma.

Palate

Thick mouthfeel coats the palate with intense spicy dark sherry oak, roasted nuts, rum-soaked raisin, smoked figs, dark chocolate and blood orange.

Finish

Long and syrupy with dark fruitcake & spicy high % cocoa chocolate all wrapped in glorious sweet bonfire smoke. If you like a bit of smoke with your sherry cask this is a devilishly good combination from Islay's oldest working distillery.
