Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with coppery bronze highlights and a touch of mahogany.
Nose
Coastal peat and sea-salt rise from the glass, kissed by smoky iodine. In the background, sherry’s dark fruits—fig, raisin—mingle with cocoa, almond and vanilla. A bright thread of lemon zest slices through the depth, while a subtle waxy mineral note adds buoyant elegance to Bowmore’s maritime perfume.
Palate
Powerful and opulent on the palate: a wave of focused peat smoke entwined with lush sherry sweetness. Dried fig, plum and espresso meet dark chocolate, toasted almond, and a salty mineral edge. Full-bodied, warming alcohol coats the tongue, revealing a velvety texture and a long, smoky finish with lingering spice and a touch of brine.
Finish
Long maritime finish with peat smoke, sea salt and ash, gradually evolving into sherried sweetness. Dried fruit, cocoa and toasted spice linger, tempered by warm oak and a soft mineral bite that carries through to a refined Islay finale.
