Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep copper-amber with mahogany undertones and a sun-kissed gold glow.
Nose
Salt-kissed Islay peat opens with iodine and sea-spray, a briny breeze carried on bold cask-strength depth. Dark chocolate and dried fig mingle with sherry-tinged orange zest and vanilla, while leather and toasted notes add warmth. A lingering mineral smoke threads through the aroma, hinting at a coastal, enduring finish.
Palate
Powerfully oily and full-bodied, this Bowmore cask strength coats the palate with dense peat smoke and coastal brine, tempered by sherry-cask fruit. Dark chocolate, raisin and fig mingle with toffee, orange zest and spice. A touch of iodine lingers as the high ABV drives a long, resinous finish, leaving leather, ash and a gentle sweetness that echoes the Islay shoreline.
Finish
Long, maritime finish with coastal peat and iodine drifting into sea-salted air, then lush sherry-soaked fruit and dark chocolate. The warmth remains assertive, weaving vanilla, toasted oak and peppery spice, fading to a gentle ember and a final whisper of ash.
