Bowmore Black Bowmore 2nd Edition Single Malt Scotch Whisky (Low Fill Level) 30 Year Old · 1964 Vintage
Out of stock
This particular bottle of Black Bowmore suffers from an issue that we have been told has affected many bottles of Black Bowmore in that the top seal, although intact, does in fact suffer from a small leak. The consequences of this can be seen from the fill level in the photograph which show approximately 20% of the original contents to have leaked. We also believe that some bottles were returned to the distillery to have this common problem corrected. We have repaired the leak by using some sealing tape around the cap, and we have also priced this bottle accordingly at around half it's normal selling price. Please only consider purchasing this bottle if you are fully happy with this situation.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Obsidian-black, almost opaque, with a subtle mahogany edge and a coppery glow in the glass.
Nose
Intense peat smoke swirls with dark chocolate and espresso, lifted by lacquered wood and sea-salt tang. Dried fig and prune mingle with toffee and cocoa nibs, while cracked pepper and iodine echo the Islay coast. The bottle's maturity threads a velvety, age-worn elegance through the bouquet, delivering a refined, enduring cigar-box and sherried sweetness.
Palate
Velvety peat and coal-smoke open to a rich core of dark fruit—fig, prune and orange zest—driven by sherry sweetness and oak. Notes of espresso, dark chocolate and caramel mingle with a coastal saltiness, while leather adds depth. Full, opulent and long, with lingering smoke and a warm maritime finish.
Finish
Long, velvety finish of peat smoke and dark chocolate, threaded with espresso, dried fruit, and marine salt. Resinous oak and warm spice linger, gradually fading to a refined, toffee-dusted warmth that envelops the palate.
