Colour

Deep coppery amber with mahogany depths and a warm, sherry-kissed chestnut glow.

Nose

Sherry-drenched nose with dark fruit richness—raisin, fig and date—woven with treacle, toffee and a touch of orange zest. Warming spices emerge (cinnamon, nutmeg) alongside vanilla, almond and subtle oak, with a faint cocoa note. A festive, luxurious aroma that promises Christmas merriment in a glass.

Palate

Ripe dried fruits, fig and raisin mingle with sherried sweetness, yielding a velvety palate of plum, orange zest, cocoa, and spice. Rich toffee and nutty notes coat the tongue, balanced by warm oak, vanilla, and a gently drying finish.

Finish

An enduring, velvety finish where sherry influence dominates: dried fig and raisin sweetness, cocoa and almond undertones, with a ribbon of spice and toasted oak. The warmth lingers long, softly drying on the palate and inviting the next sip.

Bell’s traces its roots to Arthur Bell, a Perth wine and spirits merchant who began vatting malt whiskies together in 1851 to create a more consistent blended Scotch. The “Extra Special” trademark was registered in 1895 and later appeared with the Bell’s name in 1904, becoming the basis of the long-running Bell’s blend. Blair Athol, founded in 1798, became closely tied to the brand after Arthur Bell & Sons acquired the distillery in 1933.
