Tasting Notes

Nose

Honeyed and warm, this nose blends vanilla with creamy barley, gentle toffee and soft oak. A bright core of green apple and pear lifts with lemon zest, while a whisper of spice and almond adds depth to the aromatic sweetness.

Palate

Silky, medium-bodied with a gentle sherried sweetness. Dried fruits—raisins and figs—meet honeyed vanilla, toffee and orange zest. Warm spices—cinnamon and nutmeg—slip through creamy oak, delivering a polished, dessert-like balance. Long, comforting finish with faint chocolate undertones and a lingering spice.

Finish

Long, indulgent finish of honeyed sweetness and vanilla, braided with warming spice and toasted oak. Subtle dried-fruit notes linger, fading to a velvety, nutty echo.

(bal-VENN-ee) Founded in 1889 by William Grant, Balvenie is located next to the giant Glenfiddich distillery on the outskirts of Dufftown in Speyside. The distillery employs traditional whisky making methods, being one of the few to retain its original floor maltings and on site cooperage. The Balvenie single malt is typically rich, luxuriously smooth, and has a distinctive honeyed character.
