Tasting Notes

Colour

Deep ruby red with a glossy garnet sheen.

Nose

Inviting bouquet of succulent cherries and ripe plums, with a lively tang of pomegranate weaving through the fruit-forward core. The Ruby Marsala cask influence lends a polished sweetness and a subtle tannic grip, enriching the aroma with a dusky, wine-kissed warmth and hints of treacle and oak spice.

Palate

Velvety, fruit-forward palate dominated by succulent cherries and ripe plums, with a bright tang of pomegranate. The Ruby Marsala cask lends elegant sweetness balanced by firm, chewy tannins and warming spice, unfolding into a long, refined finish.

Finish

Long and luxurious, the finish gathers cherries, plums and a bright zesty note of pomegranate, then deepens into a refined Marsala sweetness. High tannins leave a drying, ruby-cask kiss that lingers with dark fruit and subtle spice, slowly fading into warm, cocoa-tinged velvet.

Aultmore
(olt-MORE) Aultmore was founded by Alexander Edward near Keith in Speyside, with production beginning in 1897. Edward was one of the most active distillery figures of the late Victorian whisky boom, also connected with Benrinnes, Craigellachie and later Oban. Aultmore was bought by John Dewar & Sons in 1923, became part of DCL soon after, and returned to Dewar’s ownership when Bacardi acquired the Dewar’s portfolio in 1998.
