Ardmore Traditional Malt Whisky (1 Litre)
Out of stock
A Travel retail exclusive Matured for a final finish in American oak Quarter Casks.
Having been replaced by the Legacy bottled at 40% the original Traditional is now delisted, so this bottle offers you something closer to that 46% ABV version.
Ardmore for me is a forgotten gem of a distillery that seems to be sadly unloved by its owners, with most of it going for blending stock. A great stepping stone into the delights of richly peated malt before leaping into Islay.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep golden amber with warm copper undertones.
Nose
Smoked cured meat with hints of biltong, new leather, aniseed and coal-tar smoke; a veil of sooty white pepper. Vanilla pods mingle with waxy quince, while game pâté meets smoked red berries and earthy, smoked cheese.
Palate
Earthy, sweet smoked meats mingle with red berries and charred vanillin oak. Aniseed and toffee weave through a fat, buttery mouthfeel, delivering depth and a lingering, luxurious warmth.
Finish
Smoked vanilla lingers with raisin fudge as earthy, leathery notes unfold; cured game salami, aniseed and peppery oak weave through the finish, leaving a warm, smoky echo on the palate.
