The Shortie Smoky Porter is made using the same peated malt as the award-winning Ardbeg Ten Years Old whisky, capturing the distillery’s signature smoky character with notes of bitter dark chocolate, malty biscuit, dry espresso coffee and a hint of liquorice. Made in collaboration with Williams Bros. Brewing Co.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Jet-black porter with a velvety depth and a hint of mahogany at the rim; the Islay whisky shines a warm golden-amber glow.
Nose
On the nose, Ardbeg’s peat wraps the senses in oily, resinous smoke, mingling with tart sour cherries, coal tar and pine. The malt then unfurls, offering toasted nuts and a lively citrus lift of lemon and lime, layering sweetness beneath the hallmark Islay smoke.
Palate
Silky, creamy on the palate with a bold smoky edge; bitter dark chocolate meets malty biscuit, while dry espresso and a hint of liquorice linger, finishing long.
Finish
Long, smoky finish lingers well beyond the sip, guiding the palate toward a distinctly bitter, charcoal-kissed end.
