West Midlands Distillery Albion English Single Malt Whisky
Out of stock
West Midlands Distillery’s Albion is an unpeated English single malt created as a tribute to the growing English whisky scene and built entirely from English ingredients. Made with English barley, English ale yeast and virgin English oak casks sourced in Staffordshire, it is a distinctly all-English release that keeps the distillery’s rich, full-bodied house style at the centre. Bottled at 53.1% ABV, this limited release was drawn from virgin English oak and released in an outturn of 168 bottles.
The virgin Staffordshire oak is the key influence here, bringing toffee and caramel to the fore before moving into wood spice through the middle of the palate. That richer oak character is balanced by the distillery’s bold, thick spirit, with notes of Cherry Battenberg and a drier spiced finish giving the whisky a distinctive profile and plenty of character.
As with previous releases from West Midlands Distillery, each bottle is individually hand painted by the distillery team, with the outer sleeve also hand finished. The white bottle colour marks this as the unpeated release, while the painted details reflect the cask and flavour profile inside.
