Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber-gold with coppery highlights and a burnished mahogany glow.
Nose
Peat-forward and maritime, with thick smoke, iodine, and sea spray tempered by sherry sweetness. Dried fig and raisin fold into toffee and cocoa nibs, a touch of leather, and a whisper of brine and spice. A warm, coastal Islay aroma with depth.
Palate
Coastal peat and iodine open the palate, wrapped in velvety sherry-softened sweetness. Dark chocolate and ripe raisins mingle with burnt sugar, while candied citrus adds brightness. Vanilla-soaked oak lends creaminess, and the finish carries sea-salted smoke, ash, and a warming, lingering spice.
Finish
Long, maritime finish, peat bound and sherried, that clings to the palate. The smoke lingers as caramelised fig, dried cherry and cocoa emerge, framed by a salty tang, and slowly give way to warm oak and tobacco.
