Tomatin Warehouse 6 Collection 3rd Edition Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky 43 Year Old · 1975 Vintage
Out of stock
A sublime 43 year old Tomatin! This is the 3rd release in their Warehouse 6 Collection, some of the most unique and precious stock at the distillery. Distilled in October 1975 this vintage whisky has been matured solely in a single Oloroso sherry butt before being bottled at natural cask strength. There are only 300 bottles of this stellar release available worldwide.
This is a whisky with both delicacy and weight. An alluring nose of dried fruits, milk chocolate and creme brulee leads to a smooth, delicate and complex palate that has candied orange, salted caramel, demerara sugar, raisins and cocoa nibs. There's also a subtle sherried wine note from decades of gentle oxidation that give a beautiful light nutty note (dessicated almonds and peanut brittle) and a hint of savouriness (a whiff of old leather). The finish is encompassing and long with a silky smooth departure offering mandarine oranges, more milk chocolate and gentle sherried nuances.
The whisky is beautifully presented in a hand blown crystal decanter with solid copper stopper. Complete with leather embossing, bottle plinth and leather case. Each bottle contains a numbered certificate detailing the journey of the whisky. An elegant and stunning release.
