Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with burnished copper and mahogany undertones.
Nose
An immensely complex nose of rancio, leather and old tropical fruits, layered with a dense, drowsy floral depth. It evokes pre-phylloxera Cognac, amplified by a creeping waxiness. Glossy, rich and refined, the aroma is massively layered and luxurious, hinting at the extraordinary depth to come.
Palate
Bitter almond opens, giving way to tropical fruits that deepen into darker, prune-like notes. Thick, almost liqueur-like with hazelnut hints, it delivers extraordinary length. Tannins start restrained but grow, slowly drawing the fruit in and inviting mid-term contemplation.
Finish
A light charred note; the finish grows drier and deeper, moving into earthy tones.
