A rare single sherry cask bottling of Macallan, this 30 year old was distilled in 1989 and released under Douglas Laing's Xtra Old Particular series from cask number #13342. Long maturation in sherry oak has shaped a deeply traditional, richly styled Highland single malt.
The nose shows polished oak, dried fruits, dark chocolate and orange peel. On the palate, layers of raisin, fig, treacle, nutmeg and gentle citrus unfold with mature oak structure and a smooth, rounded texture. The finish is long, elegant and softly drying, with lingering sherry sweetness and refined spice.
