Part of Gordon & MacPhail’s long-running Speymalt series, this 25 year old Macallan was distilled in 2000 and drawn from single first-fill sherry butt #3235. Bottled at natural cask strength, it offers a classic sherried Speyside profile from one of Scotland’s most sought-after distilleries, with only 556 bottles produced.

The first-fill sherry cask brings depth and richness, with layers of stewed red fruits, dates, dark chocolate and orange peel, balanced by toasted nuts, oak and warming ginger spice. A powerful single cask Macallan with the maturity, concentration and sherry-led character expected from a long-aged Speymalt release.

The Macallan
Macallan was founded by Alexander Reid in 1824 on the Easter Elchies Estate above the River Spey, and it was one of the first distilleries in Scotland to become legally licensed. The name comes from the older place name “Maghellan”, combining the Gaelic magh for fertile ground with a reference to St Fillan, who was associated with the church that once stood on the estate. Easter Elchies House, which remains central to the brand’s identity, dates from around 1700 and still sits at the heart of the estate.
