Colour

Radiant golden amber with a honeyed depth and subtle coppery sheen.

Nose

Opulent vanilla and golden caramel lead into bright orange zest, dried apricot, and gentle oak spice. Hints of almond, clove, and cocoa weave through a creamy, sherried sweetness, finishing with a polished, lightly resinous warmth.

Palate

Silky, medium-bodied with a creamy core of vanilla and toffee from American oak, balanced by sherry-seasoned European cask influence. Dried fruit, orange zest, and almond weave through apple and pear notes, while cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove linger. Finish is warm and long, with polished oak, soft sweetness, and a final kiss of citrus zest.

Finish

Opulent and enduring, the finish glides with creamy vanilla and honeyed toffee, punctuated by gentle sherry sweetness and warm spice. Toasted oak nods through, while dried-fruit echoes linger long, fading to a silky, memory-warming glow.

The Macallan
Macallan was founded by Alexander Reid in 1824 on the Easter Elchies Estate above the River Spey, and it was one of the first distilleries in Scotland to become legally licensed. The name comes from the older place name “Maghellan”, combining the Gaelic magh for fertile ground with a reference to St Fillan, who was associated with the church that once stood on the estate. Easter Elchies House, which remains central to the brand’s identity, dates from around 1700 and still sits at the heart of the estate.
