The Macallan Speymalt Single Malt Scotch Whisky 33 Year Old · 1973 Vintage
Out of stock
Gordon & MacPhail have been purveyors of fine goods across three centuries and, over many years, have built up and nurtured special relationships with local producers. Among these are several local whisky distilleries in the Speyside region from whom they purchase new-make spirit to be matured in their own oak casks.
However, there is only one distillery for which they reserve the title ‘Speymalt from Macallan Distillery’.
Established in 1824 and situated overlooking the fishing beats on the River Spey, the Macallan Distillery produces a wonderfully complex spirit, which they then carefully mature in quality oak casks ordered specifically for the ‘Speymalt from Macallan Distillery’ range.
Each bottling carries the vintage of distillation and the year of bottling, capturing an exceptionally mature single malt whisky.
Another price masterpiece from Gordon and Macphail, you just can't buy an ex-sherry cask 33 year old Macallan for this price anywhere else.

Tasting Notes
Colour
A rich, deep amber with copper-gold highlights and a warm mahogany edge.
Nose
Opulent sherry-driven nose with dark raisins, fig and date, orange zest, and toffee weaving through toasted almond and cocoa. Cinnamon and clove glow on rich oak, with a whisper of leather—a warm, elegant perfume that hints at decades of maturity.
Palate
Silky and full on the palate, with lush sherried fruit—fig, raisin and orange peel—woven through toffee, caramel and dark chocolate. Soft spices—cinnamon, clove—meet polished oak and a hint of tobacco. The texture is elegant and refined, leading to a long, dignified finish where leather, espresso and walnut linger with a warm, creamy sweetness.
Finish
An enduring, sherried finish of velvet oak and dark cacao, with dried fig and orange zest echoing long after the last sip. Gentle spice—cinnamon, clove, a whisper of nutmeg—unfolds into toasted almond and espresso. The warmth lingers: fruity and refined, softly radiant, and impressively persistent.
