From time to time Macallan's whisky makers come across casks maturing in their warehouses which stand out from the others in a very particular way. These hand-selected casks are a rare and special discovery.
Rare Cask is created from oak casks which exhibit incredibly rich, smooth complexity, highlighted through a sweet raisin note. These rare casks of The Macallan have an entirely natural deep ruby mahogany colour, and an intense and highly complex flavour profile.

Soft vanilla weaves with rich raisin, followed by a sweet fusion of fresh apple, lemon and orange—an inviting, orchard-bright aroma hinting at indulgent complexity.
Palate
An intense sweet raisin dominates before giving way to vanilla and dark chocolate, with layers of light citrus zest.
Finish
An exceptionally long, rich, velvety finish that lingers with plush sweetness, unfolding vanilla and dark chocolate notes with a subtle citrus lift before a warm, lasting glow.
