From time to time Macallan's whisky makers come across casks maturing in their warehouses which stand out from the others in a very particular way. These hand-selected casks are a rare and special discovery.
Rare Cask is created from oak casks which exhibit incredibly rich, smooth complexity, highlighted through a sweet raisin note. These rare casks of The Macallan have an entirely natural deep ruby mahogany colour, and an intense and highly complex flavour profile.

Palate
An intense wave of sweet raisin leads, unfolding into velvety vanilla and dark chocolate, with delicate citrus zest weaving through for a bright, lingering finish.
Finish
Long, rich and velvety, the finish lingers with raisin sweetness and vanilla warmth, punctuated by dark chocolate and a delicate citrus zest, gradually fading into a refined cocoa glow.
