Distillery Bottling

Matured for a minimum of 12 years on The Macallan Estate in the heart of Speyside, The Macallan Sherry Oak 12 Years Old is revered as the classic example of The Macallan and the influence of sherry seasoned European oak casks.

Matured in predominantly sherry seasoned European oak casks, this exceptional single malt whisky has distinct tasting notes of ginger, dried fruits and spice.

"Sherry Oak Collection has a rich and complex character led by our sherry seasoned European oak casks. It is these exceptional oak casks that transform our robust and fruity new make spirit into exceptional single malts that boast entirely natural colour. Enjoy notes of succulent dried fruits and sweet spices, with a depth of flavour that intensifies through the range.” - Kirsteen Campbell Master Whisky Maker.

The Macallan
Macallan was founded by Alexander Reid in 1824 on the Easter Elchies Estate above the River Spey, and it was one of the first distilleries in Scotland to become legally licensed. The name comes from the older place name “Maghellan”, combining the Gaelic magh for fertile ground with a reference to St Fillan, who was associated with the church that once stood on the estate. Easter Elchies House, which remains central to the brand’s identity, dates from around 1700 and still sits at the heart of the estate.
