Opulent vanilla and caramel rise from creamy malt, wrapped in warm, silky oak. Zesty citrus and green apple brighten the aroma, while almond and a whisper of coconut add nutty sweetness. A delicate bourbon-barrel spice lingers, leaving a clean, refined oak finish.

Palate

Silky, full-bodied and warming, this unfolds with vanilla, honeyed caramel, and citrus zest. Bourbon-cask influence adds toasted oak, almond, and gentle spice—ginger and clove—while dried fruit notes deepen the mid-palate. A long, refined finish echoes the whisky’s maturity and balanced sweetness.

The Macallan
Macallan was founded by Alexander Reid in 1824 on the Easter Elchies Estate above the River Spey, and it was one of the first distilleries in Scotland to become legally licensed. The name comes from the older place name “Maghellan”, combining the Gaelic magh for fertile ground with a reference to St Fillan, who was associated with the church that once stood on the estate. Easter Elchies House, which remains central to the brand’s identity, dates from around 1700 and still sits at the heart of the estate.
