The ninth edition in the limited annual Classic Cut series, Classic Cut 2025 continues The Macallan’s journey into the depths of flavour exploration. Breaking away from traditional age statements, the Whisky Maker has carefully selected casks that showcase peak maturation and character from across The Macallan’s diverse inventory.

Matured in a harmonious combination of sherry-seasoned European and American oak casks, along with a touch of ex-bourbon casks, this release is bottled at 50.6% ABV. The result is a bold yet balanced whisky, highlighting rich notes of smooth milk chocolate and vibrant orange zest.

The Macallan
Macallan was founded by Alexander Reid in 1824 on the Easter Elchies Estate above the River Spey, and it was one of the first distilleries in Scotland to become legally licensed. The name comes from the older place name “Maghellan”, combining the Gaelic magh for fertile ground with a reference to St Fillan, who was associated with the church that once stood on the estate. Easter Elchies House, which remains central to the brand’s identity, dates from around 1700 and still sits at the heart of the estate.
