A full bodied palate of mature oak, ginger and raisin flavours are complimented by a light mahogany natural colour.

Light mahogany with a natural, warm glow.

Nose

A pastry-rich nose of treacle tart, studded with stem ginger and soaked raisins and sultanas, a bright note of orange zest, and a soft kiss of ground cinnamon—warmth and depth promising the Sherry Oak signature.

Palate

Soft and rich on the palate, dark chocolate-coated ginger with dates and dried apricots unfold, balanced by mature oak and a kiss of vanilla sweetness, leaving a refined, lingering finish.

Finish

Long and refined, the finish lingers with dried fruits—dates and apricots—paired with ginger and carried by warm, oaken sweetness. A soft vanilla echo broadens the warmth, leaving a lasting, festive glow that gently coats the palate.

The Macallan
Macallan was founded by Alexander Reid in 1824 on the Easter Elchies Estate above the River Spey, and it was one of the first distilleries in Scotland to become legally licensed. The name comes from the older place name “Maghellan”, combining the Gaelic magh for fertile ground with a reference to St Fillan, who was associated with the church that once stood on the estate. Easter Elchies House, which remains central to the brand’s identity, dates from around 1700 and still sits at the heart of the estate.
