Tasting Notes

Colour

Golden amber with sunlit honey and caramel highlights, a warm copper glow.

Nose

Rum-infused crème anglaise mingles with freshly cut barley, blueberries and buttered raisin bread, lifted by orange blossom and a veil of sweet, spicy oak.

Palate

On the palate it is rich and creamy, starting with rum baba and raisin fudge, then a wave of aromatic spice and creamy oak. Blueberry cereal notes mingle with ginger biscuits, while yellow plum and caramelised banana add warmth and fruit. The finish is gently spiced, with a cupped sweetness and a lingering biscuity, grainy undertone.

Finish

Spiced butterscotch coats the palate, followed by rum and raisin fudge and a whisper of pot still aromatics. Fresh yellow plum notes emerge, balanced by biscuity grain and lingering warmth of oak and spice, leaving a dessert-like, comforting finish.

The modern company was founded by Jack and Stephen Teeling in 2012, and the Teeling Whiskey Distillery opened in 2015 at Newmarket as the first new distillery in Dublin for more than 125 years.
