Tasting Notes

Colour

Golden amber with sun-kissed honey tones and a warm coppery glow.

Nose

Ripe red fruit, raisin and fig with orange zest rise from sherry-soaked wood. Toasted almond, toffee and vanilla cloak the nose, while cinnamon and clove add gentle spice. Rich, refined and inviting, a dessert-like, velvety aroma that hints at the complexity to come.

Palate

Silky, creamy entry with malt sweetness giving way to ripe orchard fruit, honeyed vanilla and toasted almond. Subtle sherry influence adds dark fruit, raisin and a hint of cocoa, while gentle spice and polished oak weave a long, velvety finish.

Finish

Long, luxurious finish with sherry-soaked fruit—fig and raisin—harmonized by toffee sweetness and gentle oak; warm spice lingers, leaving a creamy, velvety trail.

Speyside Distillery
Speyside Distillery was the long-held vision of George Christie, who bought the site in 1962 and spent decades developing it from an old barley mill near Drumguish. Although the buildings were completed in 1987, distillation did not begin until 12 December 1990, giving the distillery a relatively modern start despite its older-looking setting and traditional appearance.
