Scapa Islands Single Malt Whisky Miniature 12 Year Old
Out of stock
A much loved old discontinued expression from the other Orkney distillery, Scapa. Replaced briefly (and unsuccesfully) by a 14 year, an excellent 16 year followed before the distillery moved to NAS expressions.
This is a lovely unpeated drinking dram, smooth, easy going, malty and honeyed. Discontinued at the end of the 1990's this is something of a collector's piece now.

Golden amber with a warm honey glow
Nose
Honeyed malt leads the nose, with gentle toffee and vanilla drifting through light orchard fruit. A delicate sherry sweetness adds warmth, while subtle almond notes and a whisper of sea breeze lend maritime depth, resting on soft oak. This bouquet promises the smooth, unpeated character of Scapa with effortless charm.
Palate
Silky and smooth on the palate, with malt-forward sweetness and honeyed notes at the core. Light cereal, a touch of vanilla, and a creamy, easygoing mouthfeel lead to a gentle, lingering warmth.
Finish
Silky and lingering, this 12-year Scapa finishes with honeyed malt that softly stretches into warm vanilla and toasted oak. Subtle fruit notes drift through the tail, while a refined sweetness lingers, leaving a gentle, polished warmth.
