Matured in ex-Bourbon barrels and finished in ex-Oloroso sherry casks to bring out its rich fruity flavour. Flavours and aromas of Sherry soaked Madeira cake studded with glace cherries. A typically gentle and easy drinking release from Penderyn.

Colour

Deep amber with gilded copper reflections and mahogany undertones.

Nose

Glace cherry dominates a warm, inviting aroma, intertwined with malt loaf, praline and hazelnuts, lifted by subtle floral notes and a drizzle of runny honey.

Palate

Toasted nuts and praline lead to madeira cake and sherry-soaked sponge, with notes of figs and sultanas. Buttered oak lends structure, delivering a creamy, lingering warmth.

Finish

Madeira cake and glace cherry linger, framed by nutty spice and mocha praline, with honey on brown toast.

Penderyn
(pen-DERR-in) Penderyn was founded in 2000 in the foothills of the Brecon Beacons, becoming the first whisky distillery in Wales in more than a century. The idea began in the late 1990s, when a group of friends set out to revive Welsh whisky, and the first Penderyn single malt was launched on St David’s Day in 2004 in the presence of Prince Charles.
