An exceptionally rare cask from Penderyn’s early distillation years and the oldest whisky released to date.
In celebration of Penderyn’s 23rd anniversary on the 14th of September, Penderyn is marking the occasion with this landmark Penderyn 21-year-old release from one of the first filled casks #48/2000.
This ultra-rare release is limited to only the 114 bottles yielded by the cask and gives whisky lovers the chance to get their hands on a piece of Welsh distilling history. This special edition 21-year-old ex-bourbon release is bottled at a cask strength of 58.9% and has been maturing for almost as long as they have been trading. Penderyn fans now have the opportunity to taste one of the rarest whiskies to date.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Radiant amber-gold with honeyed depth and coppery glints.
Nose
An intensely rich honey sweetness opens the nose, creamy and inviting, with coconut and vanilla, entwined with tropical fruits and fresh apples and apricots.
Palate
Soft, sweet and creamy on the palate, with caramel and oak tannins. Hints of white pepper mingle with light fruits—white grapes and honeydew melon—creating a delicate, refreshing sweetness.
Finish
Soft exotic fruits with dry oak spices.
