Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with copper-gold highlights and a touch of mahogany.
Nose
Opulent sherried bouquet of dark plum, fig and raisin, braided with burnt sugar and toffee. Rich mocha and cocoa deepen the core, while roasted almond and leather lend elegance. Warm spice—cinnamon, clove, nutmeg—pulses at the edges, with polished oak and a delicate orange peel lift. Velvet and aromatic, the aroma invites a slow, contemplative initial sip.
Palate
Silky and weighty, this Mortlach coats the palate with concentrated sherry sweetness. Dried fig and prune mingle with orange zest, dark chocolate and toffee, while velvet oak and a touch of spice—nutmeg and clove—frame the fruit. Leather notes emerge mid-palate, finishing long and refined with warm cacao and a lingering, luxurious warmth.
Finish
Long, lavish finish of velvety dark fruit—plum, fig and date—tangled with cocoa, toasted almond and spice. Sherry depth lingers atop refined oak, gradually fading to a warm, enduring sweetness that carries a luscious, polished elegance.
