Miltonduff Chapter 7 Single Cask #900109 Whisky 6 Year Old · 2008 Vintage
Out of stock
Another one of those lesser known Speyside malts that is mainly used for blending (Ballantines is the well known blend that this is destined for) but when given a great cask and here bottled as a single Sherry cask the results can be as impressive as anything the more well known Speyside brands can offer.
Impressive complexity here for a mere 6 year old and suprisingly easy drinking for its 65.1% ABV (or am i just so used to cask strength whisky by now?) the quality of the Sherry cask (first fill?) makes this feel more mature and only 663 bottles available.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep burnished amber with coppery red highlights and a mahogany depth.
Nose
Aromas of Snickers bars mingle with tea loaf cake, dried apricot and mocha praline, with hints of new leather, mandarin, tinned peaches and a waxy orange lift.
Palate
Waxy orange and apricot open the palate, joined by caramelised peaches and a chorus of dark chocolate truffles. Treacle tart notes mingle with mocha, while buttery oak underpins leather, nutty nougat and a honeyed tang on brown toast, delivering a warm, indulgent finish with a hint of spice.
Finish
An impeccably long, austere finish woven with chocolate liqueurs and Cointreau, brushed by golden treacle. Mocha and nutty caramel carry through, followed by fig jam and spiced peaches, leaving a refined, lingering warmth that invites the next sip.
