The Macallan 1990 Release Sherry Oak Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky (75cl) 18 Year Old · 1972 Vintage
Out of stock
Ah, another super 'old style' bottling of the glorious 18 year old. Distilled in 1972 and bottled in 1990. A slightly drier and more complex offering this one, quite leafy with fig, raisin and marmalade on the iniitial nose. The palate offers those classic sherried notes but also a touch herbal and with chewy tannins and cedar wood. There's a good finish to it with a nice spicy touch reminicent of nutmeg and ginger.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Rich, deep amber with mahogany depths and a copper-gilded edge.
Nose
Leafy and refined, this Macallan opens with fig and raisin laced with marmalade. The sherry influence sits dry and complex, with subtle herbal hints and a cedarwood lift that hints at polished oak and quiet spice.
Palate
Sherried notes unfold with a herbal lift, layered with fig, raisin and cedar. Chewy tannins give structure, leading to a long finish warmed by nutmeg and ginger.
Finish
Long, refined finish with a warm Sherry echo. Nutmeg and ginger spice linger over a cedar-wood spine, while a faint herbal note and softened tannins retain a controlled, polished dryness that invites the next sip.
