Johnnie Walker Excelsior is one of the more sought after limited editions within the Johnnie Walker range of Blended whiskies.

A vatting of whiskies entirely distilled in 1947 and bottled fifty years later in 1997, this is a remarkable and quite stunning whisky. Double matured in port seasoned oak casks to create a pre-eminence in scotch: a whisky of unsurpassed richness and velvet smoothness.

Highly collectable and becoming one of the holy grails of the Johnnie Walker range.

Deep amber-gold with luxurious mahogany hues and coppery highlights.

Nose

Opulent and velvety on the nose, a lavish tapestry of dried fruits—raisin, fig, plum—with shards of cherry and orange zest, woven through nutmeg, clove and soft vanilla. Port-seasoned oak lends rich toffee and cocoa, while whispers of leather, espresso, and cigar box deepen the seal of age. A refined, multi-layered aroma hints at luxury and restraint, inviting a slow, contemplative swirl.

Palate

Velvet-smooth and opulent, a full-bodied palate of dark fruit and refined sweetness. Plum, fig and cherry ride over cocoa, toffee and spice, anchored by port-seasoned oak. Silky texture with restrained tannins, leading to a long, dignified finish that lingers with elegance.

Finish

Long, opulent finish with velvet-smooth richness. Port-seasoned oak imparts a refined sweetness of dark fruit and warm spice, slowly fading into lingering oak with a final kiss of cocoa.
