Pepper Distillery - a legend in its day, and at one point the largest distillery in the world, has re-opened in its original location. This marks the first time that a historic bourbon brand has returned to its original address.

The barrel proof version of James E Pepper's popular straight rye whiskey, With a mashbill of over 90% Rye, this is a classic upfront Rye whiskey. Full Flavored, with deep notes of mint, spice, cloves, eucalyptus, chocolate and honey The same exact whiskey as in the standard award winning 100 proof version, only straight from the barrel.

Bold and expressive on the palate, this rye leads with bright mint and eucalyptus, backed by ample spice and cloves. Rich chocolate and honey weave through the mid-palate, while barrel-proof warmth amplifies depth and texture. A creamy mouthfeel lingers into a long, peppery finish that showcases the rye’s undeniable punch.

Finish

Long, warming finish with a bright rye snap of mint and spice, entwined with cloves and eucalyptus. Dark chocolate and honey echo as the heat slowly fades, leaving a peppery, oaked glow that lingers and softly fades.

The Pepper family brand of whiskey is an iconic Kentucky whiskey brand initially produced during the American Revolution and continued through 1967. The family built and operated two main distilleries: first founding the site that today hosts the Woodford Reserve Distillery, and later the James E. Pepper Distillery in Lexington. In the late 1960s the bourbon industry hit hard times, and both the brand and distillery in Lexington were abandoned for over half a century.
