Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with coppery-gold glow and a mahogany-tinted rim.
Nose
An aromatic bouquet of cinnamon and allspice, with grape jelly and apricot glaze. Toasted vanillin oak folds in poached pears in sweet syrup, while apple candyfloss, fig and honey add lush, fruity depth.
Palate
Peppery spice carries black grape and ripe fig, joined by aromatic spices, prunes and dates. Tarte tatin sweetness flickers with crystallised ginger, red berries and a touch of oak tannin that tightens the finish.
Finish
A lingering, spiced and peppery finish of raisin and red grape skins, wrapped in aromatic oak, with fig jam and Madeira cake notes.
