Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with copper-gold hues and a hint of mahogany, a warm, inviting glow.
Nose
Opulent Glen Elgin sherried profile: dark fruits—prune, fig and raisin—layer with orange zest, cocoa and burnt sugar. Rich oak, toffee and spice—clove and cinnamon—plus almond and faint leather. A warm, concentrated aroma that speaks of vintage pot-still finesse and the bold, 58.5% spirit.
Palate
Opulent and warming, the palate reveals dark sherry-soaked fruit—fig, date and raisin—threaded with burnt sugar and orange zest. Rich praline, almond and vanilla glide over a waxy mouthfeel from the old pot-still influence, balanced by coffee-tinged cacao and baking spice. A long velvet finish, with oak, spice, and a whisper of sweetness.
Finish
Long, silky finish with sherry-softened fruit, notes of raisin and fig dissolving into dark chocolate. Spiced warmth—cinnamon, clove, and a touch of oak—lingers gracefully, leaving a polished, velvety glow on the palate.
