Craigellachie Connoisseurs Choice Single Malt Scotch Whisky Miniature 13 Year Old · 1971 Vintage
Out of stock
An old, mid 1980's miniature bottling of Craigellachie by Gordon and Macphail. The first official distillery bottlings did not appear until the 1990s as part of the Flora & Fauna and Rare Malt Selection series, so these independant bottling were the only way for connoisseurs to sample the distillery's famously sulphuric spirit. .

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber-gold with coppery highlights and a warm, honeyed glow.
Nose
Bold, sulphur-rich nose with a medicinal edge, like struck matches. Beneath that, honeyed orchard fruit, vanilla, and toasted oak emerge, offering a balanced sweetness that tempers the distillery’s famed spine.
Palate
Bold and waxy on the palate, it bears a pronounced sulfurous spine that threads through the taste. Peppery spice meets citrus zest, giving way to honeyed barley and dried fruit, while oak adds a gentle dryness. The finish is warm and lingering, with a medicinal warmth that underscores the rugged Speyside character.
Finish
Long, warming finish dominated by the distillery’s signature sulphury malt, unfolding into vanilla-wrapped oak and subtle spice. Dried fruit notes and a peppery, drying tail linger gracefully, leaving a refined, persistent warmth.
