Chain Pier Tri Carragh Release No. 10 Single Cask Scotch Whisky 6 Year Old · 2019 Vintage
In stock
Chain Pier’s Tri Carragh Release No. 10 was distilled on 7 November 2019 and bottled in 2026 at 6 years old. This single cask release was first matured in a Pedro Ximénez hogshead before a final 7-month finish in a second fill red wine octave, then bottled at a natural strength of 58.9% ABV. With an outturn of just 86 bottles, it is a small-scale release where the cask treatment plays a very clear role in shaping the whisky.
That combination of PX wood and a red wine octave gives the whisky a darker, more concentrated profile than a more straightforward maturation. The PX cask brings sweetness, dried fruit and richness, while the octave finish adds extra depth, berry fruit and spice. The result is a full-flavoured young whisky with plenty of intensity, where dark fruit, chocolate and oak sit alongside the spirit’s natural weight.
