Tasting Notes
Colour
Rich deep amber, suffused with coppery highlights and mahogany edges, a warm chestnut glow.
Nose
Intense maritime peat and smoke lift from the glass, braided with sea-salt and ash. Underneath, Oloroso-finished richness emerges: dried fig and raisin, caramel and orange zest, cocoa and toasted almond. Vanilla-tinged leather and old oak add polish, yielding a layered, coastal perfume that speaks of smoke, sweetness, and a refined spirit.
Palate
Powerful, heavily peated palate with maritime smoke and a briny edge of iodine and sea spray. Charred oak and ash mingle with dark chocolate and cracked pepper, while Oloroso cask influence lends dried fig, raisin and almond sweetness. A smooth, velvety texture carries the peat through to a long, warming finish of smoke and balanced sweetness.
Finish
Long, smoky finish where heavy peat lingers alongside rich Oloroso sherry notes of dried fig and raisin. The sweetness coats the palate with toffee and dark chocolate, tempered by toasted almond and a warm, oak-driven dry finish that slowly fades into ember-like smoke.
