Milk & Honey, now often styled as M&H Distillery, was founded in Tel Aviv in 2013 and is recognised as Israel’s first whisky distillery. Its name refers to the biblical phrase “the land of milk and honey”, while production is rooted in a modern urban distillery setting close to the Mediterranean coast.

About Milk & Honey

Milk & Honey, now often styled as M&H Distillery, was founded in Tel Aviv in 2013 and is recognised as Israel’s first whisky distillery. Its name refers to the biblical phrase “the land of milk and honey”, while production is rooted in a modern urban distillery setting close to the Mediterranean coast.

The distillery was developed with guidance from the late Dr Jim Swan, whose work with warm-climate whisky helped shape several new world distilleries. Israel’s hot climate plays an important role in maturation, with casks ageing more quickly than they would in cooler regions such as Scotland, bringing strong wood influence, spice, fruit and concentration at a younger age.

M&H produces Israeli single malt whisky alongside other spirits, with the whisky portfolio including Classic Single Malt, Elements Sherry Cask, Elements Red Wine Cask, Apex releases and other limited editions. Elements Sherry Cask brought the distillery wider international attention when it was named Best Single Malt Whisky at the 2023 World Whiskies Awards, helping establish M&H as one of the key names in modern world whisky.
