Bowmore Claret Bordeaux Wine Casked Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky (USA Edition)
Out of stock
A limited edition Bowmore single malt finished in Bordeaux red wine casks, this expression was matured predominantly in ex-bourbon barrels before spending additional time in claret wine wood and bottled at cask strength of 56% ABV.
It was released in 1999 as a bold experiment combining French wine influence with Bowmore’s classic Islay character, and a total of 12,000 bottles were produced under the Claret Bordeaux Wine Casked label.
The Bordeaux cask finish brings ripe red fruit and gentle vinous sweetness that weaves with the distillery’s maritime peat smoke, saline edges and warm oak influence. The result is a distinctive fusion of fruit-rich wine notes and traditional coastal smoke, making this a notable and collectible expression from Bowmore’s range of special editions.
