Out of stock
The very first release of the now legendary Black Bowmore. In this authors opinion the nose of this extraordinary Whisky can't be bettered and it will probably be a very long time before any Islay distillery is able to release a malt as captivating as this.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep, almost opaque ebony with a subtle mahogany edge and a warm copper-amber halo when held to the light.
Nose
Opulent peat smoke fans around a sherry-forward core: dried fig and plum, dark chocolate, and vanilla-wax oak. Sea-salt and iodine knit through lacquered wood, with leather and toasted almond adding refinement. A rare, captivating Islay aroma—rich, poised, and unforgettable, hinting at the depth of the 1964 release.
Palate
Silky and full-bodied, this Bowmore coats the palate with smoky richness tempered by sherry sweetness. Dried fig, raisin and dark chocolate unfold with espresso notes, while sea-salt and a touch of pepper lift the mid-palate. A creamy caramel core underpins a refined, long-lasting peat-driven finish that lingers with ash and lacquered wood.
Finish
Long, smoky and velvety, the finish glides with peat and sherry-dark fruit, cocoa nibs and espresso. A coastal warmth lingers, threaded with sea salt, oak spice, and a hint of burnt caramel, gradually fading to a refined ember that lingers in the mouth.
