Bowmore Bicentenary 1779 - 1979 Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky 1964 Vintage
Out of stock
Released to celebrate Bowmore’s 200th anniversary, this Bicentenary edition commemorates the distillery’s founding in 1779 and was issued in 1979 as a landmark collectible from Islay. Now highly sought after, it represents an important piece of Bowmore history as much as a whisky.
The character is typically in keeping with classic Bowmore: coastal and gently smoky rather than aggressively peated. Expect aromas of sea air, soft peat smoke and dried fruit, with hints of vanilla, citrus and old oak. The palate tends to be rounded and elegant, balancing light smoke and maritime saltiness with honeyed sweetness, subtle spice and mature wood, leading to a long, softly smoky finish.
